Journeyman HVAC Technician – Service & Installation

Location: Idaho Falls, ID
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: Competitive hourly + performance bonuses (DOE)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman HVAC Technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and customer service. This role focuses on residential and light commercial service, troubleshooting, and installations. The ideal candidate can work independently, diagnose systems accurately, and represent the company professionally.

You’ll be responsible for keeping homeowners comfortable while delivering solutions that are efficient, safe, and built to last.

Responsibilities

    •    Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems (furnaces, ACs, heat pumps, boilers)
    •    Perform residential and light commercial installations
    •    Troubleshoot electrical, airflow, and mechanical system issues
    •    Conduct system inspections and preventive maintenance
    •    Recommend repair vs. replacement options honestly
    •    Communicate clearly with customers and explain system operation
    •    Ensure all work meets local codes and manufacturer specifications
    •    Complete work orders and documentation accurately
    •    Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site
    •    Work with dispatch and install teams for smooth operations

Qualifications

‍
    •    Journeyman HVAC license (Idaho preferred)
    •    3–5+ years of HVAC experience
    •    Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
    •    Experience with gas furnaces, AC systems, and heat pumps
    •    Ability to work independently
    •    Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
    •    Strong customer service and communication skills

Preferred (but not required)

    •    EPA 608 Certification
    •    Experience with boilers or hydronic systems
    •    Experience with ductless mini-splits
    •    Experience with service software (ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, etc.)
    •    Leadership or mentoring experience
